Five years ago we started collecting NEW coats for TOP Early Learning Centers and the day we delivered the coats my dear friend, Nick Esterline committed we’d deliver 1,000 coats on year five. I thought to myself how are we ever going to do that.
As I sit at my desk listening to the sounds of the season, I am reminded how blessed I am to be surrounded by colleagues who believe in kindness, generosity, gratitude, and happiness. As we calculated the number of coats and donations received, tears welled in our eyes. “We did not do this alone and are overjoyed by the outpouring of support from friends, family, partners, clients, vendors, and colleagues. We hope a gift of a new coat to kids reminds them there is a community that cares about them,” said Nick Esterline, President and Founder of TGC Group. Here we are five years later we did it, the grand total over five years is 2,258 NEW coats!
We collected 590 coats, TGC matched 590 coats and delivered a total of 1,180 new coats to TOP Early Learning Centers of Wichita, Kansas and to Sunlight Children’s Services in Andover, Kansas who we trust will get these to kids who need them most,
TOP Early Learning Centers received 1,000 new coats. “It was so amazing to see each of our students receive a brand new coat this year! We are so grateful to TGC and all the donors who made this possible. The smiles on the children’s faces were priceless,” said Cornelia Stevens, MBA, Executive Director of TOP Early Learning Centers.
Sunlight Children’s Services received 180 new coats and 30 duffle bags. “It’s always something you think about when these kids show up with nothing. Where are they going next, and will they have everything they need? Knowing that they will at least be warm and have coats this winter gives them one less thing to worry about. These kids don’t need anything more to worry about,” said Dusty Buell, CEO of Sunlight Children’s Services.
Together, we are impacting over 1,000 kids in the community, and we know they will be warm this winter. Thank YOU!
